Iran elections 2.0

The blogosphere and twitterverse (or what the collective is called) has been raging with news from Iran on the disputed elections. Observing this over the last few weeks I've harboured the thought that there has been a huge element of hype, hype in the form of the actual role that twitter and blogs have played during the post-election coverage.

There is no doubt that while traditional media have been muted on the issue, social media has generated vast amounts of publicity. What is the actual value of this contribution. Hamid Tehrani provides a thoughtful and realistic posting on the subject. Well worth the read.
